Many of us only consider the multiple run day as a replacement for our weekend long run on those rare occasions when family or other commitments prevent us from having enough time for all the miles we want.
So, while we tend to use multiple run days as an inconvenient compromise, elite athletes routinely have multiple run days as part of their training program. This video explains why including multiple run days is such an effective training tool.
