Is it normal for a top distance runner to lose all fitness – and worse – after decades as a couch potato and over indulging on the saturated fat and cholesterol of a (SAD) Standard American Diet? Absolutely!!
However, no matter how far down that slippery slope of weight gain, hypertension, diabetes, etc you are – you CAN gain your health back. You just need to want it badly enough to do the work; and have a solid rescue plan in place.
