One of the important factors when working with runners that have a full season is managing the recovery period post marathon.
If your “season” involves doing a marathon every six months with nothing between – then by all means grab a cookie cutter program. Then you can build to a peak and let your fitness crash down the other side before starting the build to the next marathon. Think of it sort of like a yo-yo crash diet of marathon running.
