I am often asked how I qualify to talk about fat loss – especially during a time where the word fat is such a sensitive subject.

The brutal truth is that I was fat. Actually, clinically obese to be precise. While there are many starvation style crash diets and a multi billion dollar industry of miracle supplements, my health turnaround came from none of these.

Sure I had been through the diet gambit more than once before…. Atkins; Paleo; Banting; Ketosis; etc, etc. Although each did allow me to lose weight, none of them were sustainable.

What did work and helped me shed my fat within a year and keep it off for a further eight years involved getting back to the basics of cutting out anything processed and switching to a whole food lifestyle and being physically active.

The best part of this lifestyle switch is that it never felt in any way restrictive.
