The tenth edition of the Artenara Trail was held on Saturday 12 January in absolutely clear weather conditions at the summit of Gran Canaria.
The 7 am starting time of the ultra distance had runners of the calibe of Luca Papi, Cristofer Clemente, Esteban Garcia, Dani Santana, Carmelo Gonzalez, Sebenzui Falcon and Sandra Moreno at the start line.
The new route of 50 km with 3.875 m of accumulated altitude gain, did not leave a single runner feeling indifferent. The prevailing comment was of “the spectacular landscape and the toughness of the route, especially the very technical descents”, according to Cristofer Clemente, the 2019 champion.
It is the second time that Clemente participates in the Artenara.
Cristofer Clemente stopped the clock at 05:14:51, followed by Alberto Vinagre (06:01:16) and Carmelo González (06:05:56). In the women’s category, the winner was Teldense Sandra Moreno (08:04:53), followed by Simone Matos (08:10:20) and Davinia Déniz (08:21:31).
